Lego + Arduino : Using Cheap Servo Motors

In this video we will look at how to use cheap servo motors with our Lego, and use an Arduino to control it. (although the theory is applicable to any MCU). In the next article we will look at IR proximity sensors and use them both together in a Lego build. Full source will be available in the next post.

They require 1 library, “servo” library, which is built in and needs no installation. The video uses standard examples supplied with that library.

  1. Hi Xtronical,
Big fan of your work. Just completed the space invaders tutorials and adapted them to work on Arduboy console and Project ABE Emulator. Awesome. Would like to distribute the code and instructions to my students at school and perhaps teachers for online learning but dont want to break any copyright license issues. Wondered if you minded or what I need to reference to be able to share with my learners online?

    • Hi, thanks for that. All code is released to be used or distributed however the end user wants. There are no restrictions or requirements. The text of the Web pages however should not be copied and redistributed. However you may do so if you wish as long as the main web site address appears somewhere indicating the original source. Good luck with this and thank you for the courtesy of asking.

      • That is extremely kind of you and greatly appreciated. I will ensure that this is adhered to. Keep up the amazing work. Best regards.
